Bypass AI Policy Blocks
Learn how to work around Google AI safety filters when generating thumbnails with faces
If you encounter the error "[AI Policy] Google's AI blocked this request", this guide will help you work around it.
Why This Happens
Google's AI has safety filters that block requests containing certain faces or content. This is not a bug - it's Google's policy and we cannot change it.
The error typically appears when using inspiration thumbnails containing recognizable faces.
The Solution: Pixelate Faces
The workaround is to pixelate faces in your inspiration images before using them.
Step 1: Download the Original Inspiration
- Go to your Inspirations section
- Find the thumbnail you want to use
- Click on it and copy or download the image
Step 2: Pixelate the Face
- Go to imgtools.co/censor-image (free tool)
- Upload or paste your image
- Select the Pixelate tool
- Draw a rectangle over the face(s) in the image
- Download the pixelated version
Step 3: Create New Inspiration
- Return to the Editor
- Create a new inspiration with the pixelated image
- Remove the original (non-pixelated) inspiration from your selection
Step 4: Update Your Prompt
Add instructions to specify you want a clear face, not pixelated:
"Replace the face with [Your Person], no pixels, clear face"
This tells the AI to use your selected person's face clearly instead of keeping the pixelated area.
Step 5: Generate
Click Generate and the request should now succeed.
Tips for Success
- Always pixelate recognizable faces in inspiration images
- Be explicit in your prompt about wanting clear, non-pixelated faces
- Use your Person reference to replace pixelated faces
- Try multiple generations - AI can be random, some attempts may work better
Examples
This technique works for any face that triggers Google's safety filters:
- Celebrity faces
- Public figures
- Any face that Google's AI considers sensitive
By pixelating the original face and instructing the AI to replace it with your selected person, you can bypass these restrictions.
